ABOUT JOURNAL OF CLINICAL EPIDEMIOLOGY

The Journal of Clinical Epidemiology aims at promoting the quality of clinical epidemiologic and patient-oriented health services research:
Through the advancement and application of innovative methods of conducting and presenting primary research; synthesizing research results; disseminating and translating results into optimal clinical practice; with special attention to the training of new generations of scientists and clinical practice leaders.

AHRQ Series: Methods Guide for Comparative Effectiveness Reviews

Since 2004, the 14 Evidence-based Practice Centers (EPCs) in the United States and Canada have prepared comparative effectiveness reviews (CERs) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Effective Health Care program. From its inception, the Effective Health Care program has invited the public to comment on draft CERs. The articles in the May 2010 issue of the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology address some of the most frequently mentioned methodological inconsistencies encountered in the first year and a half of public and peer comment on these reviews.
